EVE Online
Eve Online is a video game by CCP Games. It is a player-driven, persistent-world MMORPG set in a science fiction space setting. In EVE, players can create and live out their most virtuous or sinister dreams, piloting starships through a futuristic galaxy of over 5,000 star systems. Most star systems are connected to one or more other star systems by means of stargate. To find your way around this massive universe, Player’s use the recently updated starmap. Pilots have to be careful where they travel because in low sec and zero-zero security zones, there is always the danger of being attacked by gangs of pirates looking for easy prey.
Star systems can contain moons, planets, stations, wormholes, asteroid belts and complexes. These system’s can be visited ingame , However some area’s may be difficult to reach alone. This territory commonly called “Nullsec” or “zero-zero” is lawless, players are free to melt your face with lasers. Player’s can also join together to form an alliance. In which groups of corporations band together to claim such systems and defend it. With the occasional roaming gangs of pirates this area is usually best off limits to new players. But that shouldn’t stop you from exploration. There are lots of player run corporations that are always looking for new recruits. Eve University is a great place to get started. The EVE Online Forums is also a great place to learn about the game and ask questions to the community.
Each tiny dot represents a single star system.
Players of Eve Online can participate in a number of in-game professions. From commodities trader to mercenary, industrial entrepreneur to pirate, mining engineer to battle fleet commander and more. EVE players have access to a diverse array of tools and interfaces to forge their own exhilarating path. The character advancement system is based upon training skills in real time, even while not logged into the game. Eve Online was released in North America and Europe in May 2003. It was published from May to December 2003 by Simon & Schuster Interactive, after which CCP purchased the rights and began to self-publish via a digital distribution scheme.
